Kutat Lestari Residence

Despite the popularity as a holiday destination, Bali fails to provide a residence for its populates. As the demands arise, Sanur, a calm and quiet east coast area, is chosen as the perfect place for the residence.

Surrounded by the new modern hospital and an international school, it’s a lifestyle designed residence for the family. It performs the contemporary architecture style with a combination of natural and humble materials, all curated for the main concept of “everyday is a holiday”.

The plan is to provide a home for three-member-family, consists of the open plan living area with a pool & courtyard, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, and a service area.

To support the “resort-like” ambience, a combination between the modern and the traditional materials is applied. Bricks are a mandatory material in Bali, that we keep as an accent for the front facades. In contrary, the bedroom showcases the dark stone wall as the accent, to give a home and natural feeling. And lastly, the addition of wooden materials for the furnitures is believed to escalate the warmth inside.

Answering the global warming issue, a green solution is adapted to reduce overall energy supply. The open living area connects with the pool & courtyard area to bring a good air flow for the cross ventilation system. While, the day lighting system is  supported by the use of natural light at the open living area, attracting more connection with the nature.
